Parent-School Compact

2024/2025


Mayfield Elementary School is a result of families and school staff working together to ensure that those children are successful in school.  Parent-School Involvement is a partnership firmly united to involve the parent, school, and students.


Parent/Guardian

I want my child to achieve; therefore, I will encourage my child by doing the following:

  • See that my child attends school regularly and on time.
  • Support school staff in maintaining proper discipline.
  • Set aside a specific time for homework and review it regularly.
  • Stay interested in and aware of what my child is learning.
  • Read with my child and let my child see me read regularly.
  • Communicate with my child’s teacher on a regular basis.


Student

It is important that I work to the best of my ability; therefore, I will strive to do the following:

  • Attend school regularly.
  • Pay attention and stay out of trouble.
  • Work cooperatively with my classmates.
  • Do better than last year.
  • Do my best and work harder, play less.
  • Be a positive influence on others. (Don’t Discourage)
  • Help others with disabilities.
  • Tutor others with troubling subjects.
  • Follow the rules.


Teacher

It is important that students achieve; therefore, I will strive to do the following:

  • Encourage students and parents by communicating regularly about student progress.
  • Contact parents regularly to convey something positive about students.
  • Provide high quality instruction in a supportive and non-threatening environment.
  • Hold expectations high for all students, believing that all students can learn.
  • Make my classroom and myself accessible to parents, encouraging them to get involved in their child’s education and initiate teamwork.


Principal

I support parent-school involvement; therefore, I will strive to do the following:

  • Provide an environment that allows for positive communication between the teacher, parent, and student in a caring atmosphere.
  • Encourage teachers to regularly provide homework assignments that will reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Support professional growth, shared decision making, and creativity.
